Based on Chapter7 in your Text (P. 233 -266,) the videos in Module 10 and the Power Point in Module 10 – Write a 3 – 5 page report:
This writing assignment is divided into sections:
1. Cover Page
2. Introduction – Write a one paragraph introduction to this topic. Define “Female Gang” and Auxiliary Female Street gangs, how are they different? What were Fredrick Thrashers findings as related to females in gangs? Who is Joan Moore and what did her study find?
3. Body of the Report – Title: Females in Gangs – Read the Chapter and Power Point and watch the videos titled “Gangsta Girls.” Select one of the females in the videos and give a brief summary about her. What are the percentages of females in gangs? Explain the reasons why females become associated with or join gangs. Describe the recruitment of females into gangs and their initiation. How is it similar or different than male members? Identify one active way and one passive way a female can leave a gang. On page 236 John Quicker gives 3 basic requirements for female acceptance into a gang. Based on the female in the video you selected decide if your subject meets any or all of those requirements. 4. Reflection – What are your thoughts about the female you chose related to the video? Are you aware of any female gang associates or members? If you were in charge of gang prevention what two specific things would you do to try and assist young women who may be at-risk for gang membership?
5. Conclusion – Write a conclusion that briefly covers each section.
6. Reference Page – Use 2 Different References for your Essay, these must be listed in APA format. Alphabetical Order, Double-spaced and hanging indents.
Submit your assignment via D2L, in APA format, .12 Times New Roman Font, with a separate cover page and reference list. Remember to put Bolded Topic Headings in your essay, and include in-text cites.
