This assignment asks you to apply a six-step problem-solving process to a specific problem scenario.
You will write a paper that presents a synthesis of your ideas about solving the problem using this systematic approach.

• Write a 4–5 page paper in which you:
o Define the problem in the scenario that you chose in assignment below, Problem-Solving: Part 1.
o Analyze the problem in the scenario.
o Generate options for solving the problem in the scenario.
o Evaluate the options for solving the problem.
o Decide on the best option for solving the problem.
o Explain how you will implement the chosen solution and reflect on whether this option was the most effective.
The paper should follow guidelines for clear and organized writing:
• Include an introductory paragraph and concluding paragraph.

Scenario Chosen : Scenario 2:
Your child comes home from school with an assignment sheet for a school project. They are very excited about the project and begin work immediately, doing research on the Internet and gathering materials. You read over the assignment sheet and notice that your child is not including all of the required items in the project, and you have some ideas for how to improve the quality of the presentation. You recently read an article in a parenting magazine about the importance of a child developing responsibility for their own learning. You recall the many ways in which your parents took over your school projects. You, on the other hand, want to encourage your child’s confidence in their ability to complete a project independently. The next day, you are at the grocery store when you see a parent of a student in your child’s class. That parent has spent over $30 in supplies for the science project and is taking a day off work to put the pieces of the project together.

This paper will focus on scenario 2.
This scenario talks about a child who went home from school with an assignment sheet for a school project. The child was very excited, and she/he immediately began the work by conducting a research on the internet and gathering materials. The parent noticed that the child did not add all the materials required for the project after reading over the assignment sheet. The parent had some ideas that could help the child to enhance the quality of the presentation, however, the parent had read an article in a parenting magazine that highlighted the benefits of a child developing responsibility for his or her learning. Besides, the parent decided to encourage the child confidence in his/her ability to complete the project on his/her own. Although, the parent found another parent at a grocery store purchasing supplies worth $30 for the project and had taken a day from work to help his/her child to put the project together.
I chose this scenario because I saw my sister assist her son in school projects and can automatically relate to this scenario. There are different sides to this scenario that require to be perceived and evaluated. I think this scenario is an ethical dilemma. The problems with scenario 2 include the following: the parent in this scenario wants to give his/her child confidence of completing the project on their own without any assistance. Giving the child liberty to complete the project by themselves helps them to gain confidence to accomplish other projects and enable them to use their innovative and creative freedom in the best way they can. Although, the parent also perceives that the child can utilize additional help to ensure that all requirements are included in the project (Jacob, & Mihaly, 2017). The parent is confused whether to step in and assist the child or step back and let the child complete the project on their own after encountering a parent who was helping his/her child with the project. I think another problem is that the parent is dealing with an ambitious nature.
