The overarching objective of this laboratory exercise was twofold: first, to design and calibrate a UV-Vis spectrophotometer capable of providing precise absorbance measurements, and second, to develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles of UV-Vis spectroscopy through hands-on experience with the use and calibration of the spectrophotometer.
