The numbering of the levels should start over when you begin the second paragraph. Each paragraph MUST contain at least two level-2 sentences or at least two level-3 sentences that are NOT back to back. Transition from the first to the second paragraph. You may write on the topic of your choice, but here are some possibilities:

favorite video game / movie / TV show

I attached a document explaining what the levels of generality are, so that should be good guidance.

Work 2
1. Write a possible thesis for Essay 3.
2. Referring to the document on the modes of development, explain how you could use three or four of the modes of development below in your essay. How can you use each mode to support your thesis? Do not use a mode for its own sake, but emphasize how you can use it to support your thesis.

Classification

I attached a document explaining what the models of development are and what they mean.

Work 3
Write two paragraphs on two scholarly sources you have found for Essay 3 (one paragraph on each source). Each paragraph should answer the following:

What are the title and author of the source?
What is the main idea of the source.
Why is it scholarly?
How do you plan to use it in your paper?

Work 4
Write a possible introduction for Essay 3. The introduction should be 5-8 sentences. It should start with an attention grabber, provide necessary background material, and end with your thesis. The thesis must state at least two reasons your paper will develop. You may use any of the introductory strategies in this https://cmsw.mit.edu/writing-and-communication-center/resources/writers/introduction-strategies/ (Copy and paste link) except for beginning with background material or defining a term.

Work 5 and explanation
As you can see above, all those separate assignments are short assignments. For work 2, work 3, and work 4, they are all referring to Essay 3 which I also want you to write. I have attached essay 3 below, as well as the rubric and one of two topics I want you to use. Essay 3 needs to be 4-6 pages.

Essay 3
Write an argument on the topic of your choice that

Is 3-4 pages (not including the title or works-cited pages).
Takes an original stance on the subject.
Extensively cites from at least three scholarly sources.
Contains paragraphs organized by the levels of generality.
Numbers the levels of generality in one body paragaph.
Contains multiple patterns of development.

Work 1: Levels of Generality Paragraphs

Paragraph 1:

Level 1: Introduction to topic – Discussing the chosen topic broadly.
Level 2: A specific aspect of the topic – Narrowing down the discussion to a specific area of interest.
Level 3: Personal experience – Sharing a personal experience related to the topic.
Level 2: Statistical data – Presenting statistical data related to the topic.
Level 3: Opinion – Expressing personal opinion related to the topic.
Level 2: Historical context – Discussing the historical context of the topic.
Level 3: Comparison – Comparing the chosen topic to a similar topic.
Level 1: Conclusion – Summarizing the discussion and transitioning to the next paragraph.
Paragraph 2:

Level 1: Introduction to the second paragraph – Discussing the new aspect of the topic.
Level 2: Specific example – Giving a specific example related to the topic.
Level 3: Anecdote – Sharing an anecdote related to the topic.
Level 2: Cultural relevance – Discussing the cultural relevance of the topic.
Level 3: Historical significance – Discussing the historical significance of the topic.
Level 2: Technical aspects – Discussing the technical aspects of the topic.
Level 3: Future implications – Discussing the potential future implications of the topic.
Level 1: Conclusion – Summarizing the discussion and concluding the essay.
Work 2: Thesis and Modes of Development

Thesis: In today’s society, social media has become an essential aspect of our daily lives. However, it has also brought about negative consequences that have impacted our mental health, privacy, and social interactions.

Modes of Development:

Exemplification – Using specific examples to illustrate the negative consequences of social media.
Cause and Effect – Exploring the negative impact of social media on mental health, privacy, and social interactions.
Comparison/Contrast – Comparing the use of social media today with its initial purpose and exploring the differences.
Work 3: Scholarly Sources

Paragraph 1:
The title of the first scholarly source is “The Dark Side of Social Media: Psychological, Emotional, and Behavioral Determinants of Negative Consequences of Using Social Media.” The author is Anam Shahid and her main idea is to explore the negative psychological, emotional, and behavioral consequences of social media use. The source is scholarly because it was published in a peer-reviewed journal and includes a significant amount of research and data analysis. I plan to use this source in my paper to provide evidence of the negative impact of social media on mental health.

Paragraph 2:
The title of the second scholarly source is “Privacy and Security Concerns in Social Media: A Case Study of Facebook.” The author is Hui-Jen Yang, and the main idea is to investigate the privacy and security concerns associated with social media use, particularly in the case of Facebook. The source is scholarly because it includes a detailed analysis of Facebook’s privacy and security policies, as well as the potential risks associated with using the platform. I plan to use this source to support my argument that social media use can compromise our privacy and security.

Work 4: Introduction

Attention Grabber: With the increasing use of social media in our daily lives, it’s hard to imagine a world without it.

Background Material: Social media has become an integral part of our daily lives, with billions of people using platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. However, as we continue to rely on social media for communication, entertainment, and information, it’s important to consider the potential negative consequences that come with it.
