Women health is undeniably one of the areas that policy framework needs to address. The need for stringent governing policy in women’s health is due to the high incidence of disease and other health conditions on this gender. Therefore, women’s health needs to be monitored closely since women are the mothers of the society we live in; the policy to be formulated should address issues as maternal prenatal and postnatal health, cancer disorders in women, breastfeeding, family planning and management of stress sustained from domestic violence. Addressing these issues will be a leap forward since they also impact on the society at large, (Chapman, 2013).
To begin with, prenatal and postnatal health of mothers impacts on children’s development and hence determines the type of future society to be anticipated. Secondly, women are at risk of many types of cancers, the most profound being breast cancer, addressing this issue in proactive manner would lessen government’s financial burden on cancer treatment. Thirdly addressing breastfeeding health in women would contribute to ensuring healthy babies who will need constant medical attention, hence a reduction in financial burden; the funds can be invested elsewhere to boost economic growth.
